Garmin Express
Device updates for your inReach Messenger are managed with the
Garmin Express computer application.
- Connect the inReach Messenger to your computer using a suitable USB-C cable.
- Open the Garmin Express application and choose your device from the menu.
- Select desired updates and follow the prompts as directed to
complete installation.

Messenger App
Device updates for your inReach Messenger can also be performed using the
Garmin Messenger app.
- Power on the inReach Messenger.
- Open the Messenger app on your mobile device.
- Verify the inReach Messenger and the Messenger app are connected.
- Open the 'Device' tab in the Messenger app.
- Open the option menu.
- Select 'Software Update'.
- Follow any prompts as directed to install available updates.
