GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus Firmware 12.06

Garmin has released firmware 12.06 for the GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus, on August 11, 2026.

Change log:

• Added music control app
• Added option to block Explore Sync (Settings -> System -> Sync with Explore App)
• Added Garmin Messenger app support for non-inReach models
• Added Waypoint symbol filtering
• Added Custom Maps to Garmin Share
• Added Photos to Garmin Share
• Added setting to exclude/include location data when creating voice notes (option menu inside vote notes app, select from In Activity, Always or off)
• Added setting to exclude/include location data when capturing photos (Settings -> Camera -> Include Location)
• Added weather map overlays to map layers list
• Added GPI Courses/Categories in Find app
• Added view all waypoints option menu item when looking to find additional waypoints for geocaches
• Added Custom maps folder in map layers list
• Added date and time to waypoint review page
• Fixed marine alarm setting
• Fixed potential crash when deleting a photo
• Fixed dog tracks not being drawn in the correct color
• Fixed issue with map layer settings not remembered over a power cycle
• Fixed YMD format issue
• Fixed crash when confirming delete on mark waypoint page
• Fixed mute setting on charging page
• Fixed issues related to enabling or disabling maps
• Fixed lock data fields in Altimeter app
• Fixed issue with tracking QZSS satellites in GPS only mode
• Fixed swipe handling on Satellite app

This update is being released in stages via Garmin Express and OTA, and should be available to everyone soon.

Didn't I bring this up as an issue when 11.07 was released?

Fixed swipe handling on Satellite app

Maybe @JungleJim can test to see if this has now been corrected to work without being annoying as hell and vastly different as in the past where there was zero swiping "motion". The different constellations were previously brought into view instantaneously.

I'm back at v10.13 as 11.07 was an update of frustration.

Yeah I think so, maybe it already was a known issue at Garmin but good to see they can actually fix things quickly.

Maybe @JungleJim can test to see if this has now been corrected to work without being annoying as hell and vastly different as in the past where there was zero swiping "motion". The different constellations were previously brought into view instantaneously.

I'm back at v10.13 as 11.07 was an update of frustration.

Unfortunately the update isn’t available for my device yet, but when it is I’ll check whether this has actually been fixed.

I also have not yet been offered the v12.06 update on my eTrex Touch 2. I will most likely install it (at least to test it) when it is offered, knowing now that I can go back to v10.13 (or other version) somewhat easily; I have a specific list of operations that I use to easily revert settings back to my liking (aside from the unit doing most of this with the copying of your previous *.fit files to the New Files folder). Most annoying though is rearranging the Apps List pages to my liking.

Wow, how embarrassing for Garmin. Apparently, they no longer know what purpose each satellite constellation actually serves.

• For anyone reading this that may be confused, QZSS is a SBAS constellation, not a stand-alone navigation constellation.
• SBAS = Satellite Based Augmentation System.
• QZSS should be displayed any time it is available, regardless of the users primary constellation selection.

• The main focus of QZSS is to enhance the United States operated Global Positioning System (GPS) in the Asia-Oceania regions.
• Originally designed to augment the United States GPS satellite navigation system, QZSS currently complements all global constellations.

I can't find the tone settings for turn warnings.

Only the alerts—that's something different.

Is that process somewhere explained ? I couldn't find anything actually, but probably I was just looking not good enough or at the wrong places.
Not that I have an urgent problem to downgrade, but who knows... Hopefully I also don't need it after upgrading to 12.06
