Turn warnings

Post by BusterKeaton39 »

Could anybody please tell me what the 'Early Turn Warning' is for - it is found under Main Menu/Setup/Tones/Turn Warnings.

I have different warning tones set for 'Early Turn Warning' and 'Final Turn Warning' but I have never heard the 'Early Warning Tone' sound!

It is exactly as it says: There are two warnings when navigating at speed. The first one is the warning that a navigating turn (left, right, roundabout) is coming up, the second one is the warning that you need to make the turn 'now'. It aligns with the written navigational messages if you've got those switched on. The first one can be heard within ~1 kilometre/~.5 miles from the point where you have to make the turn ("Turn left in 500 metres"). The second one near the point itself ("Turn left in 100 metres").

My guess is that the early warnings only sound when navigating by bike or by car. I don't recall hearing them when navigating on foot.

Thanks for the response - I did wonder if it was for driving, or as you say travelling at speed.
