API Update Frequency?

Looks like 67i's API may be tied to iridium functionality (vs 67), so would need update to >3. Any idea of how often does a model get its API updated, if ever?

On the device About page, see "CIQ". Best I can tell that's "Connect IQ" as described on a developer dot garmin page. Mine (67i) is 3.2.8.
I found a page listing API for all of their devices, and both 67 and 67i are stated at 3.2.

So, now I'm wondering why your 67 is able to run Brandon's new IridiumFind app, but I cannot. Maybe yours is a minor version ahead?

Yes, my GPSMAP 67 has a 'beta' software loaded.

The Settings > About page indeed shows the supported Connect IQ API version of the device.

Garmin does sometimes update the supported API version in firmware updates: for example the GPSMAP H1 was on API level 5.0 on release, but now supports API level 6.0. But no guarantees on if and when such updates happen. I can imagine it's also tied to the hardware and software platform a device is based on.
