I just upgraded to the GPSMAP H1 with OUTDOOR MAPS+.
How can I use my maps on a PC? The USB connection is outdated, and loading maps from the GPS is too slow.
How do I apply map overlays? They aren't available or supported by BaseCamp.
A PC version of Garmin Explore would be ideal.
BaseCamp redesign is absolutely necessary now

Ironically, there is a web version, you could you use of Garmin Explore. But it lacks most of the features, which their App provides.
But I cannot agree, that USB is outdated. It really depends on the usage.

Re: BaseCamp redesign is absolutely necessary now
Base Camp doesn't have the option to display two maps simultaneously; this option is only available on the device, so displaying the main map and the overlay map in Base Camp is impossible.Denis54740 wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 8:56 am The USB connection is outdated, and loading maps from the GPS is too slow.

It is possible to combine the detailed map and the overlay map to create a single mapset, but this is not applicable to the maps mentioned above.
Regarding the map loading time, it is long during the first connection; subsequent connections with the same mapset should be faster.
