Older Versions

Old software for the Colorado can be found here.

Updates using WebUpdater

Updating the software on your Colorado is normally done using the WebUpdater which is a program available for your PC and Mac that checks and installs software on your Garmin GPS. To use WebUpdater download and install the program from the link above, connect your Colorado to your PC and run WebUpdater to check for the latest software. Alternately, Garmin releases a PC executable (aka .exe file) for the Colorado that can be run on your PC which will install the release if you have you Colorado connected. These files are available via the links referenced above.

GPS Software can only be installed using the WebUpdater.

Updates using gcd files

Some software releases below are linked directly to a GCD file for that release. GCD files are also available through Garmin's web site using a URL of the form: https://www8.garmin.com/software/Colorado_WebUpdater__xyz.gcd where xyz is the three digit version number. For example, for version 2.6 xyz would equal 260.

Each Software Version below is linked to either that version's .gcd file on a .exe file in the case of a beta release. If you want to upgrade or downgrade to a beta release simply execute the .exe file associated with the release. For all other upgrades I would recommend upgrading via WebUpdater (see above) but if for some reason you can't (e.g. you are trying to downgrade) then you can update using gcd files by following this procedure:

Not recommended. Many issues with gpx files not being loaded after boot or partial geocache descriptions. Recommend moving back to 2.92 or 2.90.

Software 2.92

Recommended. Modest enhancements and bug fixes to the Colorado.

Software 2.90

There is an issue in 3D View with this release. Sometimes it will work the first time you use it, the second time you use it does not work. If 3D View does not work for you in 2.9 set Setup->Map->Map Detail to a lower setting.

Software 2.80

A minor software update to fix a few small bugs. The gpx file fix is good for Mac users because it prevents the case where "delete" gpx files in the trashes folder are not loaded.

GPS Software 2.80

Appears to address the location drift issues in the GPS Software 2.60 release although Garmin has not published release notes with this release. It is a recommended update. Although the location drift issue does not appear to have been completely fixed, it is drastically reduced.
