B1.) What are Profiles?

Profiles allow you to save and recall all of the settings on the Colorado all at once. Usually the group of settings in a Profile are specific to a type of activity and the way that you use the Colorado during that activity. For example the default Profiles include Automotive and Marine. The settings in these two Profiles differ to optimize the use of the Colorado for driving on the road (i.e. Automotive map view) or on the water (i.e. use of Nautical units). Switching Profiles allows you to quickly change back and forth between the activities without having to reconfigure each individual option.

Profiles are also a convenient way for multiple users to share the same Colorado since many settings are based on personal preference.

B2.) How do I know which Profile is set?

Goto Shortcuts->Others->Profile Change and see which Profile is highlighted in the list.

B3.) Is there an easier way to quickly see which profile is set with having to go the Profile Change menu?

For each profile you can set different backgrounds and different soft key colors to help remind you which profile is currently set. You can also add the Profile Change tool to the Shortcut menu to make it easier to find.

B4.) Why does my Time Zone/Language setting keep changing back to Central/American English?

Time Zone and Language, like every other setting on the Colorado are specific to a Profile. The first time you turned on the Colorado and specified your time zone/language it saved this in one of the Profiles (probably Recreational). If you are using other Profiles you'll need to go back and set the time zone/language for those Profiles as well. US Central/American English happen to be the default time zone/language.

B5.) Can I add new profiles? How?

Yes. Shortcuts->Others->Profile Change->Options->Setup Profiles and select <Create New Profile>.

B6.) How do I delete a profile?

First select a Profile other than the one you want to delete. You cannot delete the profile that you are currently using. Then select Shortcuts->Others->Profile Change->Options->Setup Profiles->[select profile to delete]->Delete.

B7.) How do I change the name of a profile?

Shortcuts->Others->Profile Change->Options->Setup Profiles->[select profile to change name]->Edit Name.

B8.) Is there a faster way to change profiles than selecting Shortcuts->Others->Profile Change each time?

Yes, a little. In each profile you can add Profile Change to your Shortcuts menu to save you having to go down into the Others menu. You can do this by going to Setup->Shortcuts-> <Add Page> and selecting Profile Change. Repeat for all profiles.
