Mass Storage Mode

Mass Storage Mode allows your Garmin GPSr to behave like an external hard drive, enabling computer access to files stored in internal memory and installed µSD card.

In most scenarios, when connected to a computer via USB cable, the Garmin GPSr will automatically detect the connection and enter mass storage mode.

For example, if 'Garmin Spanner' is selected in [Setup > System > Interface] on an Oregon 6xx, when connected to a host computer via USB cable, the Oregon 6xx will prompt you as follows:

Enter Mass Storage Mode?

Select [No] to use the GPSr
while sharing data via USB

Select [Yes] to enter
Mass Storage Mode

Mass Storage Mode

Most Garmin GPSr function in a similar manner.
