After that I did another Format - this time in Windows XP on Parallels with FAT32 function and again no difference. My device is only visible with Forced USB mode. The device actually works - I presume I have not deleted system folder but I can not upload any maps on it. Device can only bee seen as External Hard drive and I can also copy folders in its totally empty folder. I dont have any backup from device. I would appreciate your help, very very much! |

| Can't help specifically, but my advice is to phone Garmin.
I used to have a Garmin Edge 705 and I deleted the base map by mistake. I phoned Garmin UK and they got me to connect my 705 to my computer, then they took control of it and re-installed my base map. It seems you have completely deleted the Garmin files. No doubt Garmin can re-install them via your computer. Have you tried connecting via Garmin WebUpdater? Maybe it will install the software? Good luck, and hopefully someone will come along and give you better advice, but I reckon phoning Garmin direct is you best option. Regards, Mick. |

| "Formatted my Montana 650" What exactly are you talking about and how did you do this? | |

He connected his Montana and opened Disc Utility and formatted the Montana drive. I did it once to my Konica camera thinking it was a good way of cleaning up the SD card. I was wrong! I took it to a camera shop and they re-formatted it correctly. What amazed me whilst they did it, they could see the photos on it even though I'd deleted them before formatting. This is why I reckon Discow should get in touch with Garmin and they can talk him through how to re-format it correctly. Regards, Mick |
