OLATHE, Kan. – GARMIN International, a leading manufacturer of navigation and communication electronics, is pleased to offer additional cartography for Canada, thanks to its latest MapSource CD: MetroGuide with Roads & Recreation - Canada. The CD provides street-level mapping detail for the cities of Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa and works with GARMIN's MapSource-compatible GPS products.

"We have many loyal customers in Canada and we are committed to providing them the most complete map coverage available," said Gary Kelley, director of marketing, GARMIN International. "With this CD-ROM, we've taken the first step in ensuring that Canadian users will have street-level mapping detail for the areas where they live, work and frequently travel."

GARMIN's exclusive collection of MapSource CD-ROMs provides street-level mapping information for select GARMIN GPS units. When downloaded from a computer, MapSource displays residential streets, shorelines, campgrounds, navigational aids and much more. MapSource also allows users the opportunity to create waypoints and routes from their PC.

The Roads & Recreation data will provide detailed maps of cities, towns, highways, interstates and local roads. Also included are rivers, lakes, marinas and navaids. MetroGuide will provide the same level of detail, plus business and residential street names with address lookup capability. The MetroGuide information will also make it possible to access points of interest information such as restaurants, hotels and service stations.
