I use my Oregon 700 unconnectedand and have no intention to change that.
My hikes take many weeks in mountain areas without mobile-internet coverage so the Oregon has to do it on it's own without any assistance.

If you sync with connect just before you leave for the trip, you may have quicker fixes for up to 2 weeks, but after that, you'll just have to wait a few more seconds! No GPSr can find a fix faster without outside assistance.
