Navigation prompts not working

I do not appear to get any nav prompts on my H1 plus when navigating a course. On previous devices the unit would warn you when each approaching a track point but on the H1 it doesn't seem to work. Should I try a master reset? I have firmware version 8.08 installed but this issue has been going ongoing with previous versions!
I had a problem a while back when the device just kept rebooting and caried out a master reset. This sorted out the problem with the rebooting but I noticed that the Odometer had then stopped working although the Trip odometer still worked. Several weeks later the odometer just started working again.
I am somewhat loath to keep doing master resets as I don't know if these issues are just my device or ongoing faults with the firmware.
