Coming from an Etrex Vista to this Etrex Touch 2. Selected walk activity and when I was finished, I touched the activity timer/start button. The next screen i touched the stop button. next screen the Discard trash can, and immediately it is starting a new walk activity. There must be something I am missing because stopping and discarding doesn't truly stop the walking activity. It just resets the trip computer each time. Any thoughts?

Welcome to GPSrChive! Updating from an eTrex Vista to an eTrex Touch 2 is a
HUGEjump!
Is it possible you have '
Settings > Data Recording > Auto Start = On'?

Welcome, JohnX
Happy to see another eTrex Touch 2 user here (finally).
Be sure and read the wealth of info here in the forum...especially the "Common Issues" section at the link within the "Spoiler" below. Lots of stuff there and what you come across in the usage of the unit (as far as bugs & such) may already have been covered and reported to Garmin.
If you see any new issues, it will be helpful to report them here so fellow users here can try to duplicate them. Reporting to Garmin is important since if they don't actually know of the issue (which is sadly, very common), they won't know to fix it. The more users that report issues directly to them will be more conducive to getting the issues resolved in a timely manner. So even if you see an issue reported here that has already been reported to Garmin, feel free to report it to them yourself as well.
Also realize the eTrex Touch 2 is the "little brother" to the GPSMAP H1 as far as the unit software goes (nearly the same except for differences related to additional hardware on the H1 series). If an issue affects the Touch 2, it will also likely affect the H1 (and vise versa).

Yes! That was a setting that was toggled on, thank you!
