Hi
I created a test track in Basecamp and sent it to the device.
When I opened it, it displayed a time of 309158:15 !!??
Can someone please help understand what this means and how to correct it ? Or how was it generated?
Notes
Gpsmap67
Basecamp on MacOS
Basecamp 4.8.13 MacOs 15.4

The situation you described is strange because the file (trace) drawn in Base Camp does not contain time information.

And here is another "mistery"....
these are screenshots from "Garmin Explorer"... (may be it was explorer that messed it up? after synching...)
I cant delete the blue arrow and the information shows
- 1st of January of 0001 !!!!! (so right after Jesus was born!!! )

Any idea please?

(sorry for queuing - but I cant edit my posts... and all the posts are queued for approval...... ?)
I definitely proved now this is coming from Basecamp.
I created new tracks: one in Komoot and the same in Basecamp. The one from Basecamp has the time (it the time that the track will take to walk) has that strange format

Maybe Base Camp in MacOs 15.4 works differently than in Windows, the track created in Base Camp (Windows) does not have data on the time of the hike.
Create a track in Base Camp, open the track properties and check if the time data is saved.
Save the track file to disk ( Files - Export option), you can re-import the saved file and check if the saved file has time data.
You can copy the saved file to the device or SD card.

BaseCamp for Mac adds the current timestamp to the first point of a newly created track. BaseCamp for Windows and MapSource don't do that.
Explore shows that timestamp after I imported that track using the Explore app (iOS). The web version of Explore does not use the timestamp.
I'm not seeing any mysterious timestamps.

Exactly that
Timestamp on the first point.
Then no more

Did you import it to a device?
Just curious to know if the info (first tab when opening the track) is also strange

Whether the timestamp of the first point is saved in the track file in the track data section.
In Windows Base Camp saves the sequence with a timestamp ( 2025-01-08T12:12:50Z) in the metadata section, however in MapSource and Base Camp it is not displayed.
There is no timestamp in the track data section.
