Just got the eTrex 22x and I have a question or two.

When I have stored/downloaded a geocache into the device, I can select a geocache via the Geocache main menu option, jump back into the Compass main menu option, and the geocache selected shows up with the compass pointing the direction to go and the distance to the cache. Perfect.
But when I use the Waypoint Manager to select a waypoint that I recorded and then jump back to the Compass main menu option nothing about the selected waypoint shows up.
How do I get the device to show me direction and distance for a waypoint?

Also, under the "Where To" main menu option if I select the "Coordinates" option, enter the coordinates I cannot get the Compass to show direction or distance. and it appears I cannot save those coordinates anywhere.

I bought this device to replace my eTrex 20 that I have had for several years and (thought) did not work anymore (I am beginning to doubt that decision). I use the device for chasing geocaches and now additionally for finding my way back to my truck via a waypoint after wandering around in the mountains for 5 hours.

On my eTrex 22, when I select 'Where To? > Waypoints > {desired waypoint} > Go', the Compass page behaves as you expect it to.

What is your exact workflow?

If you want to save the coordinates you are navigating to, start by Marking a Waypoint, edit the coordinates and other waypoint details as desired, then navigate to the newly saved waypoint!
