etrex-se Solar ends navagation prematurely

Unread post by epoch_time »

Just received a solar etrex-se to compare with my non-solar etrex-se.
I like to navigate to the gps's own location for accuracy and drift analysis.

The solar verson when navigating to a location 33 feet away ends navigation with the Message "Coarse Complete". I wasn't navigating to a coarse, just a waypoint!
So if I create a waypoint and moments later navigate to that waypoint the gps immediately says Coarse Complete! Because waypoint distance is less than 33 feet.
I wonder if navigation is also canceled when geocaching is less than 33 feet that would really suck not being able to navigate to the precise geocache location!

Does anyone know how to stop this "Coarse Complete" Feature/limitation? Without upgrading/downgrading the software version.

My non-solar etrex-se let's me keep navigating until I manually stop the navigation.

Do other non-solar etrex-se's with newer software versions cancel navigation or is it only the solar-etrex-se that shuts down within 33 feet of destination?

solar version non-solar
software 4.02 software 3.10
host 4.02 host 3.10
gps 2.49 gps 2.42
ble 3.00 ble 3.00
