New eTrex SE stuck on firmware 2.3

Hi, my new eTrex SE on firmware 2.3 has been playing the constant freeze and reboot game while playing with it. I have tried the following to update it;

-wireless via the Explore app (will sync, but does not seem to update it).
-Downloaded the Garmin Express application (get a message saying this GPS unit is not supported by Express, download the Map updater application instead).
-Downloaded the map application, but it says the application it needs to be updated by the developer as it is too old to work on my newer Mac laptop).

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to contact Garmin support for that one. They have to fix their database so Garmin Express will properly recognize it.
