Torch (Flashlight) Activation During Startup

Hi, just picked up a 700, great bit of kit particularly the screen. One question, is it normal for the torch to flash once when you turn it on or connect to USB?

Unit is brand new from Garmin provider.

This seems normal? Some of my RMA‘d 750i devices also showed such behavior. But some not.

My 700i does not do this - to add another data point. Firmware 18.90.

GPS Unit Software 2.90
CIQ: 3.2.4

The manual says it will update when connected to WIFI but I've just run up Garmin Express and it says there are updates - two maps as well so I'm letting that run now.

Is the Firmware updated through Garmin Express?

Based on my experience, the firmware version won't changed that, as it's independed, if the Montana does that.

Firmware all up to date but still the same.

Can't see why it should do this at all. Waiting for a response from Garmin support - might be a long wait!
