GPSMAP 67 Battery Drain

Unread post by neilwoody »

I used my 67 on an off-trail hike this morning. The distance of the hike was 3.8 miles. The duration of the hike according to the GPS was 2.26:00. The battery level was 99.0% at the start. The battery level at the end of the hike was 98.0% with 17.5 days remaining.

How do you see how many days is left on the battery?

Power the GPSr 67 on. Press the power button once and you will see the Lock Screen page, then use the right arrow on the D-Pad and you will see the battery level percentage and the estimated number of days remaining.

That data is provided by a Connect IQ widget, isn’t it?

Yes, you are quite correct. The battery information is provided by a Connect IQ widget which must be installed first to display battery level information. I had forgotten that I had installed that widget.

Ahh thought it would be an app. I'll give it a miss, I'm not keen on installing stuff on my devices off there. Never know what's being installed.

All Connect IQ apps are reviewed by Garmin and you have to allow apps access to various data and functions. So I think there’s not much risk in using Connect IQ apps.
