Just wanted to share a YouTube link to a nice (at least IMHO) review of the GPSMAP 67i done by HikingGuy.com, a guy who has done a lot of Garmin reviews and how-to videos in the past.

I especially find his points on whether you should get this device interesting. What are your thoughts on that?

I've seen and enjoyed many videos by the Hiking Guy. In the end he went with his inReach Mini 2 and his Epic Pro X watch over the 67i. But for those who don't have his two devices, I'd say the 67i is a good choice.

...and only about 1/3 the price!

The 67i is valid for hikes and distant treks when you have no network, with us it's rare not to have a telephone network, it can happen in the high mountains where the 67i is rather recommended.

Another observation in the review I found interesting is that he observers that the Fenix and GPSMAP create almost similar track logs. But the GPSMAP has a quad helix antenna which should improve reception…

I have wondered about this myself as well, why do the current Garmin watches and GPSMAP create such similar results? Several comparisons in other reviews show the same.

Anyone who has opened up a GPSMAP 67 to see whether there actually is a (connected) quad helix antenna inside? :P

Thanks for posting the link to the review. Unlike the reviewer, I prefer the 67 for hiking over my Garmin watch because the larger screen makes navigation easier. When I'm using the 67, I rarely look at my watch for any data.

On the subject of Garmin watches;
I thought my Garmin Epix watch produced a more detailed track than the 67, however
I prefer the smoother track (Interval: most often) the 67 creates for mapping. Both devices are quite accurate.
Here's the Epix, 67 and my Phone (Galaxy S20FE using the Gaia app to set the track) from a 5K walk yesterday that was mostly out in the open. While all were quite accurate, each track had minor inconsistencies. Map app is Explore.
