The 67 firmware cannot be patched like the 66sr, it has another extension: GMAPSUP.GSP instead of: GUPDATE.GCD on the other Garmins, except the Montana 7xx, you cannot read certain locked cards which are unlocked. One cannot read his personal JNX. But as we can read personal IMGs there is no problem.

What extension (*.*) do BirdsEye files downloaded on 67 have?
I didn't save any BirdsEye file when I had GPSMAP 67. I'm curious if Windows still shows Type JNX?
Can someone share such a file?

The satellite imagery files have JNX as extension. See attachment for an example file (zipped to allow uploading as attachment).

Thanks
So JNX works on 67.
It probably doesn't support anything other than its own.

Then why can't other *.jnx raster maps be used?GPSrChive wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 10:56 am Please see GPSrChive > GPSMAP 67 > Operation > Files & Folders for additional details.

Re: Third Party Maps Don't Work??? (Yes, they do)
Garmin added support for *.JNX raster maps when they introduced BirdsEye in January 2010. BirdsEye maps required a subscription, and each JNX map is 'locked' to the subscribed device serial number to prevent them from being used on other devices. Personal and third party JNX maps do not include the necessary license information that allows your device to display the map.
Since Garmin no longer sell BirdsEye subscriptions, perhaps if a very large number of 'potential customers' and 'existing customers' were to request they open this up to third party maps, they may consider it. But it would be a long shot.

You can download free Garmin BirdsEye JNX maps on your 67 as on the 66sr, with WiFi, these are satellite maps that are of poor quality, barely readable, it can just help out.

We're talking about JNX custom maps, which you also can't run on 67. BirdsEye works fine on 67 and 66sr.
However, for my area it is shifted a few meters to the east. Which becomes useless.

What do you use in the 67? OSM/Talkytoaster maps?Richard1982 wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 9:59 pmNo I didn't. I queried it with the person I bought the 66sr from and he bought the cards from eBay so they were just copied maps so I guess that's why, dunno. I bought new maps and gave the card to a friend with a 65 and it worked fine for themRickN55 wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 5:22 pmDid you ever get the maps working?Richard1982 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 11:39 am Just to clarify the map is the Garmin Discoverer OS maps (1:25k/1:50k). I was thinking maybe I'd been sold a 'dodgy' copy type thing, but I've seen in the 4.70 firmware they "Fixed potential “Can’t Authenticate Maps” prompt" and as this is the message I get, maybe it's just a case of it not being fully fixed. Who knows. Maybe they are dodgy maps!
