New GPSMAP 67, 67i and eTrex SE

Unread post by mimichris »

I received an info for two new GPS, the GPSMA67 and 67i and Etrex SE.

The 67 is the same as the 66sr but Garmin added Beidou when it was there when the 66sr came out. it has a few more features, the USB-C connection, but the rest is not important to me compared to the 66sr.
To be seen during its operation.

The ETREX SE appears to be unable to receive personal and purchased maps.

The operational time in GPSmode for GPSMAP 67 (not i) is 180 hours compared to the 66SR which has a time of 36 hours.

But the weight hasn't increased one gram on the 67, seems strange. Perhaps they measure the operational time in GPSmode differently compared to the 66SR?

Battery life is an impressive 180 hours. I wonder if it's a new battery or economical electronics?
It seems a lot of people were put off buying the 66sr because of the battery.
Getting used to replaceable batteries from previous models was often more important than other factors.

With current portable batteries the autonomy of our devices with Li-ion batteries should not be the problem.
