Garmin discontinues Basecamp?

As of May 2021, Garmin has not updated BaseCamp. Should I start thinking about an alternative? What alternatives?
BaseCamp development was discontinued several years ago, but not BaseCamp support. There have been multiple updates in recent years to improve stability and resolve a few bugs.
BaseCamp can still be used today, and will remain a viable solution for the foreseeable future.
If you like using BaseCamp, you can continue using BaseCamp, just as we do!
