For fun, I bought the garmin Tempe to connect to my gpsmap 66sr.

also connected it to my venu2 for comparison but the readings are similar.
So currently i'm returning this tempe with another one and hopefully that will work better.

Temperature readings (left is a normal thermometer / right is the Tempe's measurement.

13.2°C -> 24°C
16.5°C -> 32°C
21.3°C -> 47°C

anyone else tried these Tempe sensors?
Did it work from the first time? correct readings ?

All my Tempe sensors are very accurate.

Sensor placement is key. Must not be placed in direct sunlight.

See GPSrChive > How To... > Wireless for more information.

I have two. They both deliver accurate temps. It's presently 64F in my back office (64.2F via thermometer). Brrrr...

I received and tried the replacement and that is giving the correct temperatures immedately.

Also the connection is more stable and connects faster, so it clearly shows that I had a bad one previously.

All weather stations are white.
It seems that many of the solutions offered by Garmin are not well thought out, just like the black temperature sensor.
