Calories data field

Unread post by codix64 »

Hello,
I use my montana with a heart rate monitor for E-MTB rides and at the end of the rides I read back all the data on the App Connect.
I have enabled the "calories" data field which reports how much I consumed during the ride but the total calories value shown in the data field is very different from what is reported in both the Montana report and the App Connect report.. How can I solve this problem?

Please provide raw data from Montana, reports from connect, as well as screen captures of data field.

Attached you can find the lap data in .FIT format taken from Montana.
I have also attached a screenshot of Connect where the calories are shown and the photo of Montana with the calories field which I unfortunately reset by mistake.. I can tell you that the measured data was 610 calories while Connect reports 380 calories..
Let me know what you think!

How do you have your Montana configured in:

A. Setup > Recording > Advanced Setup > Trip Recording
B. Setup > Recording > Advanced Setup > Recorded Data Reset
C. Setup > Fitness > User
D. Setup > Fitness > HR Zones

I have configured Montana as follows:

A. Setup > Recording > Advanced Setup > Trip Recording : DURING ACTIVITY
B. Setup > Recording > Advanced Setup > Recorded Data Reset : ACTIVITY AND TRIP
C. Setup > Fitness > User : SET UP WITH MY PHISICAL DATA
D. Setup > Fitness > HR Zones : SET UP WITH MY MAX HR (165)

Please configure:

Setup > Recording > Advanced Setup > Output Format = FIT and GPX

Create a Trip Computer Page for eight data fields plus the small data field dashboard and configure these Data Fields:

Activity Distance
Elapsed Activity Time
Ascent - Total
Descent - Total
Calories
Heart Rate
Heart Rate - %Max
Heart Rate Zone
Speed
Speed - Maximum
Speed - Moving Average
Speed - Overall Average

Then reset all trip counters and record another trip taking screen captures of the preconfigured Trip Computer Page at regular intervals.

Screen Capture is configured in Setup > System > Power Key.

Save the Activity immediately after completion (make one more screen capture just before you do this), and send all screen captures along with copies of both the saved GPX and FIT files from the Montana to the address below.

Upload activity to Connect and include a screen capture of Connect reported data (including calories) to the address below.

Thank you for your reply,
I have set up new pages on the Montana with the fields you requested. Unfortunately I won't be able to use my MTB until next Saturday, so I ask for your patience if I don't immediately send the data to the email you indicated.

Thanks for your understanding.

We've been here for more than a dozen years already, so a few more days will not bother anyone. Test at your leisure! 😉
