I can confirm, that EPO.BIN file has no effect on the 66sr. Only the CPE.BIN file gives you a faster connection to all GNSS. The EPO.BIN file is downloaded by a mistake if you connect your device via Wifi, at least in my case.

Is there a way to download the latest CPE.bin file for the GPSMAP 66SR. I have been able to download the latest EPO.bin file for my Montana 610 using software called GetEPO installed on my handheld. Is there anything similar for downloading the CPE.bin file needed by GPSMAP 66SR?

The best is to download the cpe.bin and epo.bin files with a smartphone and Garmin Explor. That's what I do and it works fine.

I wanted to make sure that I was purchasing the latest technology. Garmin seems to be focusing more on watch products lately. I need a GPS handheld that displays maps.
Just noticed that the 66SR is not available from the Garmin Canadian site:
Spoiler
Are these not sold in Canada?

I just checked the Garmin site:
Spoiler
The GPSMAP 66 SR is still listed under Outdoor Recreation handhelds, select GPSMAP model and Multi-Band Frequency and it will go the 66SR model.

This is true on the US site. On the Canadian site, the 66sr is nowhere to be found. I do not know if it ever was listed or if it was dropped because it is being replaced maybe?
