Thank you for the heads up, I'll definitely be giving this a try and hopefully I will have some time to get outside with the updated unit soon. I wonder if the first issue is associated with the device shutdown issue I had. The second one I've noticed - where selected layers do not persist after reboot.
I am glad to see Garmin taking these issues seriously and getting updates out.

Confirmed that visible/selected layers for Outdoor Maps+ now survives reboot.

Navigate to a point on the map, the "go" button is not working. You have to wait for about 25 seconds, after that you can use the "go" button.
When navigating to an address and you would like to add a via point by pointing the map, the same problem appears.

Sounds like
Bug 130:
The Map Point Information page may be unresponsive or slow to respond.

Yes it is. So Bug 130 is still present in V15.00.

You can also load the new firmware manually if you don't want to wait.
See

Maps can only be downloaded via Wi-Fi. A Bluetooth connection is also required to verify user location.
See
GPSrChive > Montana 7x0 > Main Menu > Map Manager for details.

Firmware 15.00 works fine for me. Only bug 130 is present. I then have to press the go button twice. But that's not such a big problem. I think this will be fixed in the future
