Map page POIs no longer displayed [Bug 146]

If any of you search for POI's on your GPSMAP 66 v10.10, do they appear in the (FIND) list?

On my 66s, if you know where a POI is, and pan the map cursor over it, that POI alone will appear only while the cursor is placed over it.

Can anyone else confirm?

I stumbled on a fix for this issue.

- mount the GPSMap 66 as USB mass storage and rename the map filename extension (I renamed *.img files to *.imgx). This completely disables the specified map(s) on the device. [Maps are located in the 'Garmin' folder on both GPS and microSD]

- unmount device and power it off

- power device back on, mount as USB again and rename the map filename extension back to .img

- unmount device and power it off

- power device back on

- POIs appear again

It would seem that an internal database needs to be refreshed and that's what the above achieves.

Not ideal, but better than reverting to 9.90 or waiting for Garmin to fix.

I suspect we will not be waiting very long at all for this to be corrected...

Tried paulxtr fix did not work.
I even removed all maps from 66s and turned off and back on 2 times.
Add all maps back in and no POI's.

If I search for a POI it finds it some show the POI icon others do not.
There name shows on the top of the map each time.

If I move the arrow over a know POI's again it show the name but no icon for that POI.

I compared it to the same map on my Etrex 22x and on my laptop in Mapsource
Both of these show all the POI's.

A full Reset resolved the issue for me, while maintaining my installed maps.

"Reset All Settings" was not sufficient. I had to perform "Reset, Delete All".
POI's are now visible in the map.

I hovered the cursor over known POI's but nothing showed up. AFAIK, all POI's are still listed in FIND and the cursor will go directly to my selection but no icon appears. I too think we'll see a quick fix for this (I hope).

As advised by andre117, hard reset solved the problem for me too. Not hardware, through the menu "delete everything, reset" All my points and cards remained untouched.
