I do wonder, if the default mangenta color of routes can be changed? BaseCamp does offer an option for that, but I don't see any option, like for tracks, for routes on Montana, so I suspect, this isn't supported at all? But I am not sure, if this could also not be a bug, since the honor of track color was also not working in the past and got fixed by an firmware update..

No Garmin Outdoor Handheld device (to date) has ever been able to change the color of the 'route' line displayed on the device map. It has always been Magenta. You do not see the option because it is not there.
