It looks like, that there is already a new firmware installed on new devices. In this german forum, someone says, he had firmware 12.10 (76aa9c5) preinstalled.

As you point out in that thread, Garmin does sometimes load unpublished firmwares to new production devices.

Probably not too long now before we all get a new update!

Let's see, what new changes it will bring. At least, such big version increment sounds more than a simple bugfix.

I suspect if you ask those who have a Montana 7x0 with firmware 12.10 loaded, they will inform you that Bug 95 has been resolved.
