Yesterday I had an update reported in Garmin Express, small blue dot with the number 1, I connected the Montana 700 but I do not see any change or what update has been installed.
I also notice that when an update is reported for Montana and I click on the blue dot it does not tell me which update is available but tells me to connect my gps while for the other Garmins, DriveSmart, we can see it .
Your explanations would be helpful. Thank you

Unfortunately, this is the behavior Garmin have adopted for many newer devices.

It is really annoying to go through the trouble of connecting the device just to find out there were no updates actually available, or no updates you care to install.

I suspect the real reason for this new behavior stems from Garmins desire to collect your tracking info for thier heat maps, and they can not upload your data until the device is connected.
