I just turned mine on for the first time in a few weeks, took it outside for it to connect to satellites, once it connected I went into the Where To menu and selected a waypoint, tapped Go and it did the same thing, no ETA at Destination and also no Time to Destination, they remained blank, the pink line was shown on the map and the distance to destination changed as I walked towards the destination waypoint.
I noticed there was no beep when tapping Go like there usually is when starting navigation.
Tried a couple of different waypoints, same thing no ETA or TTD, no beep either.
So then I stopped navigation, powered it down and went back inside.
I realised I forgot to check which firmware version so pushed the power button to turn it back on, nothing happened.
Pushed it again, nothing.
Pushed and held it like you do for a reset, still nothing.
Took the battery out for about 30 seconds, put it back in and the power button worked as expected.
Started up ok, firmware version 10.50.
Went back outside and connected to satellites again, Where To, Recent Finds, selected the same waypoint, tapped Go, it beeped, the pink line showed again and the ETA & TTD data fields were working as expected showing the times...weird
My Route settings are:
Direct Routing - Yes
Lock on Road - No
Route Transitions - Auto
Course Navigation Method - Direct Path
The above was done with the Activity set to Hiking and a non-routable map.
I then changed the setting Direct Routing to No, then changed the Activity to Motorcycle Driving and tried to navigate to the waypoint again, this time I got a message saying Detailed Maps do not support automotive, motorcycle or ATV routing.
Tapped ok on the message and the pink line is there and the ETA & TTD data fields are working as expected.
I wonder if this bug might have something to do with Garmin's disabling of routing mentioned in the message...
