GPSMAP 64x, 64sx Firmware Update 3.10 released 18NOV21:
Changes made from version 2.70 to 3.10:
- Added support for syncing courses with Garmin Explore.
- Improved navigation sync experience with Garmin Explore.
- Fixed an issue where GMU maps might not be visible when zoomed out.
- Fixed possible issue that could prevent tones from working.
- Fixed possible freeze when entering geocache next stage coordinates.
- Fixed possible issues when changing profiles while on the trip computer page.
- Fixed possible issue with inaccurate track distance with no GPX fix.
- Fixed possible issue displaying TOPO Great Britain maps.
This update is being released in stages via Garmin Express, and should be available to everyone soon.

Hello,
Garmin Express is offering this update for my 64sx. Because there are "rumours"
about Garmin updates having worsened firmware bugs or introduced new ones I always hesitate to install these updates immediately after release. As another measure I tried to download FW 2.70 from
https://download.garmin.com/software/GP ... r__270.gcd
but received message "The requested URL /software/GPSMAP64sx_WebUpdater__270.gcd was not found on this server." Is there any other source where this FW can be downloaded? Many thanks in advance for helpful hints.

Makes no sense to me. So your strategy will be to get those supposed bugs later than all others and get it fixed later than all others.
What would make sense to me is to install latest and downgrade back if any trouble.

t's my experience that update bugs are reported very soon after its release, e. g. with Garmin Express or 66i. Because of this it has proved good for me to always wait some time after such releases before installing them. Unfortunately, it seems that the 64sx obviously doesn't belong to the top selling GPSrs so that there is not so much discussion about this type like it is about more popular devices. Therefore my question here. But YMMV ...
