Question about 'Use Map'

I have question about using 'Use Map'. I wonder by myself, if this is a bug or intended by Garmin?
I am talking about this function: Main menu -> Route Planner -> Create Route -> Select First Point -> Use Map
This function gives me the option so use the red needle and set a waypoint on the mark, where I would like. At least I would think so. If I use City Navigator, there seems some strange logic to happen. Even, if I do point exactly on a loction on some street, it's always reference a point in a 90 degree to left or right, I guess, depending, if that detected street number is on left or right side.
IMHO, is really annoying, because I don't to have a waypoint among the street, but exactly there, where I did put that red pin needle.
What do you think?

Can we please wait until after the next firmware update and then revisit this issue to see if it still exists?

In the mean time, Garmin replied and told me, that they have created an internal ticket for this issue.

Garmin replied, that this is intended behavior..
But I can't confirm, that using TopoActive helps, as same behavior happens there too..
We're sorry for any confusion surrounding the Use Map feature found within the Route Planner.
What is happening is what you have already noticed. The Use Map feature is identifying that there is an address associated to the left or right of the selected map point so it moves the point there instead of exactly where the red push pin is.
This is considered normal behavior with a map that is using address data as it finds the nearest point and some of these address points in the map are slightly off of the road itself.
We can understand that this may cause issues when trying to plan and navigate a route. However, that is how this feature with this map is designed to work.
If you don't wish for this to happen, you can use the preloaded TopoActive, or other topographic map for your planning instead. You can also try creating waypoints first and use those to create the route instead of the Use Map feature.

Just a quick addition. The suggested workaround with Waypoints also doesn't work, as saving Waypoints are also put to left or right, same logic as with 'Use Map'.

This issue is still present in firmware 10.50.

Also using the new 'Course' function has exact the same problem, when using 'Use Map'.

I wonder if this is related to the European City Navigator Mapsets? I can not duplicate with City Navigator North America...

Since I can reproduce that also with TopoActive, it can't be only related to City Navigator. Maybe Europe specific?
