Hello,

I have purchased a new Garmin Tread, but in the European versions the radio function is not activated.
I would like to know if it is possible to flash this unit with the firmware of the USA versions in order to have the radio.

I am just curious, why Garmin disabled radio in european versions? Due some regulations?

Yes, most countries have different regulations for which radio frequencies can be used by civilian's and how those frequencies can be used.

Well, it was as easy as telling him that I am in the USA at the first boot, and the radio option appears!

I have compared the XML files, and it seems the firmware is identical for your device as a USA Tread. I suspect the device will limit actual capabilities based on GPS location. Also, did your Tread come with a Group Ride Radio, or a Group Ride Tracker?

It comes with the tracker, but does not have the microphone input.
But I think we will be able to use the radio from a bluetooth headset.
We have not been able to test it yet.
