GPSMAP66st v7.20:

In the "Area" field "square" symbol is out of the frame.


Even if it's there, it's still a wrong font.


The same situation in "Save activity" page.

Regarding Bug #94 (Adjusting screen brightness), it works as intended in 7.20. Brightness between 0%, NV, and 10% gradually increases.

Added GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Common Issues > Bug 127.

Please retest again with future firmware updates and report your results!

With firmware 7.60 i can also see this. i have a reading of the Area as: 205.04km (instead of km2)

Of course, you must all realize, for Garmin to resolve this, they will likely have to remove one digit of resolution from the data field to keep the unit indicator in frame for these values?

Scaling of the text (numbers and characters) should do at least to some extent, this is normal for fields displaying distance and elapsed time.
Precision may be an issue for some.
1 km2 is 1 000 000 m2. so already when the unit switches from m2 to km2 with two decimals we have 10 000 less accurate reading of the area, For those doing very detailed mapping of areas, i imagine most would use a higher grade device (but as always, i could be wrong).

A slightly smaller font would be ideal in these situations, but we will first have to wait and see if Garmin wants to address it, then how they do so!

The unit symbols have long been ingeniously compact on Garmin devices. Instead of:

km

the characters are on top of each other, and one position is saved:

m

The same could be done for the area, instead of:

m²

would be used:
