The process of installing (from a self-executable file) the map on the device is shown in the image.

God damn!
Finally it happened!
I don't know exactly how, but I think after using GPS EOW to set the date and time.
After the date and time were set, I've tried one last time to upload any map and it happened!
So thank to everyone for the help, without you i was doing nuts.

Information about maps in .exe files.
The program that creates .exe map files was created in the Etex Legend era for all devices without user accessible memory and SD card support, but it also works with new devices.
In devices without user-accessible memory with SD card support, the map installation process can be replaced by pasting the gmapsupp.img file onto the card

The map sent to the device replaces the map on the device (overwrites), in your case, this does not happen.
G7towin shows only two maps: "VERBMAP" is the basemap and "VERSMAP" is the added map. The latter is overwritten each time you send a map to the device. Just how it should be.

Very strange, the only explanation I can think of is dat the device won't show maps that are newer than the current date, or what the eTrex thinks it is. When a map is sent to the device it looks like the date is stored too (the map info on the Legend shows a date for each map segment).

The purpose of maps in .exe files was to enable quick installation of the map
on the device without having to create a maset every time.
It is possible to create a set of the most frequently used maps in .exe files, if you need to change the map area, you install the map from the .exe file without unnecessary marking of the area on the map in MapSource, creating the file by MapSource and sending it to the device every time you want to change the map area in the device.

When you save your data in Mapsource to a GDB file not only routes, tracks and waypoints are stored, but also your map selection. This way you can store your favourite map selections and reuse them with a few clicks.

That's right, but considering the capacity of laptops at the time,
it was an optimal solution for use in a hostel while away.
I don't remember if MapSource had the ability to save .gdb files at that time.

Early versions used the MPS format, map selection is stored in MPS.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but the map file creation date problem can occur on any device.
I created a map file with the date 01.01.2030, the device displays an empty field
where the map name should be, the map did not appear on the screen.
It can be assumed that the map file creation date is important.
In Base Camp, the map is displayed from the img file.

Interesting, on which device did you test?
This does not happen on every Garmin device. I've got a GPSMAP 296 with an empty backup battery, so it will loose the current date. Even with a date in 2000 it will still show a map created in 2023.
(Luckily I can set the current year manually before it has a satellite fix, so it shows the right date after the fix)
