I use the Auto Save - Daily setting. I used the resulting files from the older device to find the time of approach to the coordinates with my own software, which for input found a GPX file from the given day by name. This is now not possible without additional file modifications.
I was on vacation for two weeks and the device was on from early morning until night every day. Upon returning, I was horrified to find that only one {date time} Day.gpx file was saved. Fortunately, it was 3MB, 30,000 points from 14 days, so I have a full track. Then I remembered that this happened last year too.
