So in german Garmin shop there is still a notification, that the 66sr is aviable in 5-8 weeks, but indeed for 66st there is no such notification and no buy option anymore.

Info from web-shop in Czech Republic
"The goods are out of stock and no longer in the manufacturer/supplier's normal offer."
Other shops have several pieces in stock.

A Dutch shop specialising in GPS products also does not sell the 66sr anymore. Of course it's anecdotal but still...

Would be really a shame that the 66sr is discontinued after only 2,5 years. And I guess it does not bode well for any future firmware updates. On the other hand the unit does what it's supposed to do for me and that won't change :D

I wonder if Garmin will shortly announce a succesor?

Firmware version 5.70 (2/10/2023) should have resolved most of the reported software issues with the GPSMAP 66SR.

And yet it's exactly the same as the 66 series, except it has multi-band added, so I don't see why it would go away, because the 65 multi-band is still for sale. So it's not related to multi-band.

A year ago it was even worse, 66sr was not even available in stores. Did anyone talk about withdrawing from the offer then?
I asked in two large navigation shops and they know nothing about the end of production of the 66sr.
I don't know why I did it? After all, I have a 66sr and even a recall will not take away my equipment.
I think that the next post in this topic should contain verified information otherwise it's rumors and unconfirmed guesses.

In order to get some verified information I asked Garmin Support in the Netherlands. Their reply (of course translated from Dutch :)):
From what I can see, it does indeed appear that it will no longer be in stock, unfortunately.

It doesn't sound, that this garmin employee knows it exactly.

I doubt that most Garmin employees (including Garmin support staff) are in a position to state definitively whether or not Garmin has decided to discontinue production of the GPSMAP 66SR. Garmin would probably issue an official statement or press release announcing a replacement GPSR handheld. I surmise that Garmin would not want to publicize or confirm the retirement of the GPSMAP 66SR for fear that might adversely effect sales.
