Avoiding part of a route? (Detour)

Unread post by berin »

Whilst out at the weekend, we had a road closure and needed to reroute on an a to b route calculated in the device. I couldn't find a way to "avoid part of route" such as there is on the Zumo XT.

Does it not exist, or was it I just couldn't find it?

Thanks!

There is no 'Route Detour' function on the Montana 7x0 like those found on 'Automotive' devices.

A possible workflow here would be to select a Waypoint, POI, or Map Coordinates somewhere along your desired detour and select 'Go > Add as Via Point'.

You can also select "Where To? > Set Via Point' to create your own detour on the Montana 7x0.

Once you arrive at the selected 'Via Point', the Montana should then guide you back to your original route, rejoining at the nearest possible location to your current location.

It is possible you may have to repeat the above procedure more than once to fully avoid the desired section of your original route.
