Weather station, one step further

Unread post by lost »

The information about using the barometer as a weather station is interesting and well written.
There are two accessories that make the GPS even better as a weather station.

1. Tempe
ANT + wireless temperature sensor designed to provide the current, minimum and maximum temperatures over a 24 hour period.

2. Speed Sensor
ANT + wireless speed sensor to measure the speed of a bicycle wheel.
With a little work, this sensor can be used as an anemometer by using it together with something that spins in the wind.

A nice feature with this sensor is that you can do some calibration by changing the value of the diameter of the bike's wheels.

I do not have a speed sensor at the moment so I used a cadence sensor instead of testing against the gps.
The wind turbine in the film consists of mixed scrap that is held together by tape, it works well for simpler tests.

The film is not very good but it shows better than I can write.
