It looks that more and more devices are potentially affected (map errors, boot issues), including Epix, Fenix 7, Fenix 8 watches.
Some users have issues immediately, others after travelling some distance (eg. 70-80 km).
However there no reports from handheld users (GPSMap, Oregon, Montana).
Also it looks that only Europe map is the culprit.

Re: TopoActive Maps version 2026.10 released
Garmin seems to have pulled the 2026.10 version. I removed the Europe maps on my GPSMAP H1 and installed them again using Express, and that reverts the maps back to version 2025.10.
There's also a post in the Garmin Edge cycling forums where Garmin acknowledges the issue for the Edge x40 series and Explore 2 cycling computers. No official word on impact on other devices as far as I can tell.

Re: TopoActive Maps version 2026.10 released
It is firmware issue of Garmin Edge (and Watches) rather than map issue.
It is not the first time when maps (either original or third party) causes problems on these devices. Garmin Edge line is Neverending story of bugs and fixes.
Anyway Garmin posted solution how to upload fixed firmware.
BTW. On handhelds I never experienced such bugs. I have a dozen maps on Oregon 700, including satellite, including this one.
I use this map regularly. No issues so far.
