GPSMAP 67 GNSS Chipset Updates?

Unread post by neilwoody »

I just noticed that Garmin has issued a firmware update for the Fenix 7. I wonder if this update may eventually lead to a firmware update to the Airoha AG3335M chipset used in the GPSMAP 67 and 67i?

Was the fenix 7 firmware update for the watch itself or for the GNSS chipset?

What were the old and new version numbers?

I just read some updated information on the Fenix 7 beta 17.10. It appears to add functionality to the watch as distinct from added functionality and accuracy to the GNSS multi-band Airoha AG3335M chipset itself.

Looks like those devices are currently using GNSS Firmware v10.00, so likely no direct correlation to the GPSMAP 67 with GNSS Firmware v.11.02.

If anyone here has a Fenix 7, can you please send me the GarminDevice.xml file so I can see if they are both using the exact same GNSS firmware?
