I guess it's up to the implementation of MTP on the device as to what files are exposed. Apparently the GPSMAP 67 exposes all files?

So in the end in my experience on Windows it does not really work any different than with Mass storage mode. Only on Mac is the experience more limited by requiring a tool like Android File Transfer, but that is due to MacOS not implementing MTP support like Windows does.

That is correct, Garmin can and does limit access to some system files.

I downloaded the trial version of MPTDrive, allow it to mount the 67 to a drive letter when you plug it in, and GSAK works as normal.

Excellent post!

Thank you for sharing this!

We just tested it, and it does work, but is a little clumsy still.

It's true the USB Masse storage doesn't work on this 67, I couldn't connect it. But since it works in MTP.....

Wow, thanks for sharing!
What GPS setting (within GSAK) do you use to send it straight to the GPS? The GPSMap 66 ?

I have been using xyplorer for years for all my Garmin units.
No need to change any setting like you have to do with windows explorer.

You can see everything on your Garmin Units including all hidden folders and on your windows pc or laptop.

The link below is the download page:
It is Trial Version Limitations
Spoiler
None: it does not work very well with android smartphones

Unfortunately, the panes do not update 'live' (even when enabled), I have to manually refresh folders to see new files when copied, and most of my context menu (right click) is missing while using it.

Hard pass!
