I connected my 65s today to update the Firmware, and it turns out it's updating the TopoActive maps. I love that they are updating them on a regular basis. It's supposed to take a couple of hours. I'm going to be interested to see if it also updates the firmware.

On the downside, after the 3.6 update, it now takes forever for my 65s to load waypoints/tracks/routes. :o It is similar to what happened when I had the 66. I know I have quite a few PQs that load, but it was not a problem till I did the update....

Just to understand it: You mean the startup process? And it takes up to hours, just as the GPSMAP 66-Bug which was just recently fixed? I was affected by this bug with the 66s, but didn't notice a similar problem with the 65s. I will look at it again later…

It only took about an hour for initial startup after I updated my pocket queries. After that it booted rapidly every time. When I had the 66s it would take up to 4-5 hours for the initial start up, long enough that if I didn't have it plugged into an a/c outlet it would drain the batteries. I didn't start having this issue with the 65s till I'd done the 3.6 update. I'm going to update them later today, I'll see if there's any difference.

So they did finally fix the 66 issue with the long start up? That's excellent news.

I just updated all my PQs, and this time it only took about 15 minutes for the initial start up. All start ups after that were what I expect, rapid. I'll keep an eye on it and see how consistent it performs.
