Geocaching with Photos

Unread post by arniebarney »

I wanted to add a photo and a spoiler photo to a geocache. (My geocache is part of a pocket query). I followed the steps in the how to section and manually created the folders necessary. I then copied in a test jpeg compression format file into the appropriate folders. I rebooted the Montana 700 and the listing indicates that pictures are available. When I press the icon, all I get is a blank screen where I would expect my index of photos.
Has anyone else tried this and had success?

Okay, I tried the rhesus monkey thing and if I touch the area where my two pics should be (i.e. top left corner of the screen ) then I can actually click through to the photos. So the weird thing I am encountering is the blank index screen which actually is functional so to say.

You are seeing a blank black screen after selecting view photos?

It is a white screen but the hot spots for the thumbs are working. If I press a corner of the screen one of the thumbs will flash and then disappear

Here are the steps from the cache page, click the icon for the pics. Get a blank screen. Click a hotspot (this one is for a spoiler photo) Open the photo. Close it. Press the screen and get a flash of an icon.

Firmware version?
Language selected?
Can you show image of folder structure for GeocachePhotos directory on your device?

We want to see if we can find a way to duplicate.

Thank you!

If you use a default profile that has not been modified, or load another image for a different cache, does the behavior change?

I changed the profile to an unused profle e.g. recreational and the problem persists. I have also tried with other caches. Also, I recreated these steps on my Monterra gpsr and the index screen does show the thumbs.
