The new firmware 4.20 can be loaded via Garmin Express.
Unfortunately there are no release notes available yet.

You are right, but I'd like to mention, that with respect to the bugs and quirks remaining untouched, we live in a land of plenty. With the end of lifetime of the 66 not too distant we only but can exercise compusure.
