Birdseye Imagery has been Updated!

Unread post by MarkHL »

A "lifetime" subscription to Birdeye imagery was included with the purchase of the 66s.
I had heard a lot of negative reviews (e.g., outdated, blurry) so I was not we expecting much.
However, I quickly realized the images I was seeing (Silverdale, WA) were only a couple of months old and quite clear. One water drainage project completed last fall and was clearly visible on the image.

Was this downloaded via BaseCamp or on the GPSMAP 66 via BirdsEye Direct?

Can you view the BirdsEye imagery details to see what version BirdsEye it is?

I downloaded it with Basecamp. Birdeye list version: V2.
I included an image that shows the side roads (dark black) in my neighborhood that were paved between Aug 28 - Sept 5, 2019. You can see the drainage project in the upper left hand corner of the image.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank You!

I was wondering if they had released Version 3 yet. Looks like Version 2 is still current!

This is good to know they are updating with more recent imagery!

I hope you enjoy your new GPSMAP 66!

Download via 66 is very slow
Is basecamp much faster?

How long does it take to download 100x100km with basecamp?

100km x 100km can not be done in one file, would likely take a few dozen files at highest resolution. Each file can take ~ 1 hour average.

See GPSrChive > How To... > Maps for more information.
