Since 3.10 I have the same problem . Have you already fixed the problem? Firmware 3.00 worked without any formatting issues.

Re: GPSMAP 66 Firmware 3.10
Fix for missing ° symbol:
The ° symbol may fail to display if specific font files are inadvertently removed from the GPSr, either intentionally or accidentally.
These files can be found in the Garmin\ExtData directory on the GPSr. There should be four *.bin files here.
To recover these files, connect your GPSr to your computer, open Garmin Express, allow any syncing to complete, then navigate to Tools and Content > Utilities > Optional Updates > Language Files.
Select any/all available files and click [Install Now]:
Once complete, reboot the GPSr and check to see if your ° symbol has returned and let us know.
We just tested this method on our GPSMAP 66 and it corrected the issue for us!
Thank You!

Re: GPSMAP 66 Firmware 3.10
Great, that worked.
The sign is back and the coordinates are displayed correctly.
Before this step the folder ExtData was missing.
I can't explain why it didn't exist.
Thank you very much for the help
