Response from garmin
" Not come across this before!!. Please send down load from unit... We will escalate. Can be corrected by software..."
Will advise if I hear more
Mike
This is a known bug, and they are already working on it!

Your contact probably had not seen it before....

I have this same problem with the 'stop nav' crash. In my interactions with Garmin about various bugs, the reply is always, "We cannot duplicate your issue" or "We have not come across this before." I wish they would just trade me for one of their units where they cannot duplicate my issues! :)

Would not do you any good, because it is a software bug, not a hardware issue.

The "We Can't Duplicate...." response is a standard response and one of the reasons I do very little interacting with those 'support' personnel.

What have you found to be the best way to communicate problems with Garmin if the 'support' personnel are not helpful?

Ask that the issue be escalated until you speak with a supervisor.

And please do continue reporting here, as some of the Garmin software engineers do actually check GPSrChive once in a while!

Will continue to report
I have sent them the whole of the units " GARMIN". Folder ex maps that they asked for.
They wanted screen shots of the unit in the lead up to the shut down.
I also sent them video of it happening.

Update
Further emails with Garmin in Tucson, AZ and Southampton and supplying my unit contents, loaded Map details, and doing some more diagnostics, they have given me a case reference.
We will see

As I have posted elsewhere this it's now sorted with update to v3.00
I even got an email from garmin support saying that it had been resolved.
That is a first for me
Wonders will never cease
